The Ruff Weather Protector Series Pet Door is basically the all-weather, energy-efficient Ruff Weather pet door enhanced with an alarm system. Featuring Ideal Pet's exclusive, patented Unauthorized Slide Removal Alarm™, the Protector's alarm sounds when the interior lock-out slide is even partially removed, providing security and peace of mind.
The two-flap design creates an air pocket between the flaps, providing natural insulation and energy efficiency. Each vinyl flap features a floating magnetic closure mechanism to ensure a tight seal and restrict drafts. It includes an energy-efficient foam-molded plastic frame, weather seal gasket, and nylon pile for added insulation. The door is designed for installation into a 3/4 to 1 3/4 exterior door, but the optional wall kit (sold separately) can convert it into a wall-mounted pet door. The medium-sized 7 1/4 x 13 flaps make this door ideal for large cats and small dogs. Like all Ideal Pet products, the Protector is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
